Californian Love Doll's (2014) - For my final thesis at University, I traveled to California to document the production of silicone dolls. These are not banal toy dolls, but very high quality "love dolls". I was fascinated by the great care and the special authenticity of the dolls, which I first saw in a TV documentary. After I became aware of the topic for the first time, some questions came to me. Who buys such dolls? And why? Who makes these dolls? Is this just a strange fetish or can you feel more for a doll? While working in the U.S.A., I was able to find answers to my questions.
